The villa that now houses the hotel was built in 1937/1939 for Maurice De ROTSCHILD, a former MP for the Hautes-Pyrénées region. The plans were drawn up by Jean ESCOUGNOU, an architect who trained in Paris. This avant-garde villa, modernist in spirit, was practically his first official contract and included the utmost in luxury: an outdoor swimming pool.

This unconventional building, reminiscent of an ocean liner, was purchased in 1960 by Louis and Marcelle PUCHEU who turned it into a hotel. It is an invitation to take a very special break in the historic thermal district of Argelès-Gazost.
